• I tried installing WP 2FA on a WordPress site and it worked great. After migrating the site to another server the modal screen to set up 2FA is not showing up and I am stuck on the profile page. I have to delete the plugin folder to be able to navigate around the back end. I tried completely getting rid of all leftovers from the plugin from the wp_options table and from wp_config.php and reinstalling, but I am getting the same behavior.

I really want to use this plugin. This is the second WordPress site I am experiencing this with with this plugin and have had to use other 2FA plugins in the meantime. Please help me resolve this.

    Hello @fraugefahr,

I sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you—it’s been quite a busy period here at Melapress with multiple plugin releases.

After reviewing the details you provided, it seems likely that an issue occurred during the migration that affected our plugin.

You mentioned that you “tried completely getting rid of all leftovers from the plugin in the wp_options table and wp_config.php.” However, during plugin removal, could you confirm whether all WP_2FA-prefixed entries were actually removed before reinstalling the plugin?

NOTE: In addition to the wp_options table, our plugin also stores data (also prefixed as WP_2FA_) in the USERMETA table, so clearing those entries is also necessary in order to ensure a clean removal.

We also have a detailed article that outlines important aspects to consider when migrating a website with our plugin installed. You can find all the necessary details here .

Could you try following these steps and let us know if completely removing the plugin as explained, resolves the issue on the already migrated sites? Additionally, if you’re able to attempt another migration using the recommendations in our article, let me know how it all goes this time.

    Looking forward to your update!
