Mod Headers Error
-
Hi,
I have webp express installed on my site, and keep getting the following error: It seems your server setup does not support headers in .htaccess. You should either fix this (install mod_headers) or deactivate the “Enable direct redirection to existing converted images?” option. Otherwise the Vary:Accept header will not be added and this can result in problems for users behind proxy servers (ie used in larger companies)
My host is wpengine, and they have added the requiste code to nginx. To that end, everything appears to be working and I am passing the live test on both “Enable direct redirection to existing converted images?” and “Enable redirection to converter?” I am also using maxcdn through wp engine, and maxcdn has turned on their webp switch, maxcdn isn’t the issue for the error.
As a result, it seems that the error isn’t accurate/is a false positive. If that is the case, I will just ignore it, but I want to make sure this isn’t going to cause a problem. Also, do I need both “Enable direct redirection to existing converted images?” and “Enable redirection to converter?” turned on or should I only have one selected?
If you could shed some light, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Steven
