• Hi Claude, brilliant work indeed…. I run a Buddypress site currently with the Buddystream plugin also, allowing users to “post” to LinkedIn and pull latest posts from LinkedIn into Buddypress.

I was hoping I could offer to pay for a modification to your plugin allowing each user to “pull his LinkedIn” Profile to his Profile Page or profile Page Widgets.

When people “connect profiles” in Buddystream… it writes the access token etc into a user meta, so my thoughts are to pass those tokens in the oath request from yer plugin to LinkedIn?

    Any ideas?

    Hi! Interesting stuff.

There’s a way for any plugin/theme to filter the arguments that are passed to a shortcode, for example you could filter shortcode_atts_li_profile and set the access token to that of the owner of the current profile page.

However, right now the access_token is not part of the arguments that are supported by the shortcodes so I should add that. So it boils down to two things:

    1. add the access token as an argument to the shortcodes or just create a specific hook for it myself
    2. create a plugin that filters that argument replacing it the one found in the user’s meta data

Let me know what you think. I can add 1. in the next release and if you don’t feel like doing 2. yourself then drop me a message so we can talk about it: https://vedovini.net/contact

Then please consider contacting the plugin author on his own site.

Per the forum welcome I am now closing this topic.
