• Are there any moblog hacks for WP? I’m asking for a friend who’s considering WP, but he apparently wants something a bit more moblog-like…

Could you describe a little more what you mean with “moblog hacks”? Maybe that’s obvious for others, but I’m relatively new to these things (everything regarding blogging), so I’d like to learn a little about it ??

Well I’m not sure, but he says “Something like textamerican.com”…

Something like this would be a killer hack, but I think WordPress would need an extension to the blogger API.

    # XML-RPC interface — WordPress currently supports an extended version of the Blogger API, MetaWeblog API, and finally the MovableType API. You can even use clients designed for other platforms like Zempt.

If y’all buy me a mobile phone that takes pictures I’ll write a moblogging hack. ??

huphtur, WordPress’ implementation is incomplete and does not support multimedia attachements.

Ditto what allusion said. I haven’t gotten around to writing the metaWeblog.newMediaObject API method yet, because I just haven’t had the motivation ??

I have added WordPress support to my mobile weblogging service, airblogging.com. It would be great if anyone were to help me iron out any kinks by giving it a test. Both text and photo posts are supported (the photos are hosted on the airblogging server for now).

Via Airblogging, photos can now be hosted on the WordPress user’s server:

Airblogging seems to be wonderful, but does it depend on your cellphone operator ? Mine isn’t listed in the signup menu… ??
