Mobile version

Hello,
I am having some issues with the mobile desktop view. The meniu bar is blue, and in my dashboard by colors I have literally nothing with blue, which is odd, and the color doesn’t fit with the rest of the colors, and i really do not know how to change that.I also have a search bar in the heather area, and i’ve disabled all search bars on the website.
Also by footer (in mobile desktop view too) I have this blue writing: “View full site” and “Proudly powered by wordpress”, how do I take that off?Thank you so much,
Diana

Hi Diana…sorry for late response, but I’m just starting my day here.
Do you have a link to your site and I will take a look at what you are referring to and hopefully give you a solution? Thanks,
AndreDon’t worry about the late response, I believe we are in different time zones ??
here is my link: https://lepivoine.ro
try it on mobile, and view the desktop version on mobile and you’ll see what i mean.thank you,
DianaThank you for the link….now I know what is happening. You are using the Jetpack’s mobile features which will override the theme’s own responsive styles. Try disabling the mobile module of Jetpack and see if that works better for you?
I disabled the Jetpack mobile module, and know it shows another desktop view. i have a problem with this one also…
I have a black menu there and i don’t know how to change it, i have tried to change every color from the theme’s dashboard, but without luck.
Also I added another photo of my logo under the logo, as I am using for mobile view WPtouch and there the logo is far to small, so i’ve disabled it and added this logo, and on the website i set the display only for small devices, but apparently when i log in from a mobile and click the desktop view, i see the two logos..Let’s tackle this in a different way starting with clarifying some things first…
in your first post you mentioned the mobile desktop view and the menu bar being blue. This is the Jetpack mobile menu function when enabled.
You mentioned you are also seeing “View Full site” and “Proudly powered by WordPress”. This I have no idea where that is coming from because that is not coded in the theme.
You mentioned you are using WPTouch….I’ve never used that but I am thinking this could be causing some issues. Please note that this theme is mobile responsive without using plugins.
When you said “black menu”, do you mean the sites menu background colour is black when you tap on it to expand (open) it? Or are you testing this out on a desktop monitor and simply dragging the browser window from mobile size to desktop size?
I also noticed that you have two logos that load (how that is happening I’m not sure). It sounds like you said you are using this second logo image with your WPTouch?
There’s a lot of things happening that sounds a bit confusing, plus, I noticed you are running a script to disable right clicks. My suggestion…lose that script because it doesn’t protect anything. I can still get into your source code and I can still grab your photos in a number of ways without effort.
Long story short, make sure your jetpack mobile features are disabled. Disable that WPTouch plugin. Make sure you do not have double logos loading. Then test your site in your desktop monitor and then in a phone or tablet viewing device.
Sorry for the confusion I’m just really new to this, this is my first website.
Yes,that was Jetpack mobile view indeed, when I disabled it, the “View Full site” and “Proudly powered by WordPress” also disappeared.
I deleted Wp touch also, I did not know the theme was mobile responsive, but know I’ve checked with my mobile and it is working just fine.
When I say black menu I mean when I’m testing this on my mobile and I tap on the menu bar to expand it, it apears black, although I did not choose this color.
The two logos were for Wp touch, the plugin allows you to upload a very small logo (on mobile), you can barely see that, so I disabled the logo view on mobile, and added a normal photo, that was supposed to be visible only on small devices, but I think it is visible on tablet too.I disabled the plugin for the right clicks too, I also think it’s a little bit useless, I just wanted to try it out.
Now the only issue remains the the color of the menu on mobile view
No worries about being new and this being your first website, so no need to apologize.
Anyway, it sounds like things are almost 100% with your website, with exception to the mobile menu background colour. After looking into this and testing it, I realized I goofed up and neglected to add styling for the mobile menu in the theme. I have it for the pro version but not the free one here. Sorry about that….
What I will do is work on a fix for that right now and upload the updated version once I am finished. You should receive a notification in your site’s admin area that an update is available.
That sounds great, thank you!
Will this also work if I am using a child theme?Absolutely! I should also say good job on using a child theme because it makes it much easier to modify the theme and allows for theme updates (like the one I am working on now) without losing your custom changes.
That is so nice to hear, I was afraid that all my custom changes will get lost if I made a theme-update, so I’ve read on the internet.
I look forward to the new theme update!Thank you so much for your help, and great job with the theme!
DianaYou`re very welcome Diana. Actually, give yourself credit because for being your first website, using a child theme, and also finding something I totally missed in the theme (mobile menu styling).
To be honest, when theme users find things not working or simply gives feedback, this is what makes themes even better.
Note: I’m almost done with the update.
Took a little longer but the updated version is now live. On the colour tab of the customizer, I moved the menu styling to the bottom of the list, but you will now have mobile menu colour options.
It’s amazing to wake up to such great news! Sorry for my late answer, this is when the day starts here.
I have to update the theme first, right? If I run a child theme, I have to activate the Opportune? But I’m a little afrait that when I get back to the child theme, my customization will be lost.
I googled it and they say to copy style.css and functions.css and then update the parent theme and then reinstall the child theme and everything will be fine. I have just looked into functions.css and it’s not much in it, I am using the beaver builder plugin and I think that my changes are not saved there…
So I think I’ll wait for you to start your day ??Good timing…It’s 12:15am and about to log off here.
Correct, update the Opportune theme. Once done, your child theme will inherit the changes of the parent theme. You don’t have to activate the Opportune theme; keep your child theme active, and there is nothing for you to copy and paste into the child theme. One thing I would strongly suggest, is to always maintain regular backups of your site. Generally, it’s a good habit to get into before you update themes, plugins, and most of all, WordPress itself. Check out UpDraftPlus as a backup option. It very popular and seeing the 5-stars helps.
I updated it as you said, no style.css copying, just simple update, and it’s amazing! Thank you so so much for all your help! The theme is awesome! A 5 star review from my side! Have a wonderful day ??
