    Hi, @eddr.

For now that option doesn’t exist. But please let me know why you need that. I’ll check if something can be done.

As you know, the proportions are usually different for mobile and desktop screens. Specifically, we use the featured image as a banner/cover image and the desktop version (wider) is no good for narrower screens (more rectangular)

Do you have 2 examples of URLs, @eddr? One for mobile and another one for desktop? I would like to see the images.

    Thanks for the patience!

Well, for example, check this link on narrow screen vs wide screen

Can you see that the mobile version cropped to fit better?

    Understood, @eddr.

Actually you don’t need 2 URLs. It’s possible to solve this issue using only CSS. CSS is able to “crop” the images virtually. However FIFU can’t do the job because there is no a general solution. It depends on your theme. Each theme will have a different CSS.

    Take a look at this:
    https://www.w3schools.com/css/css3_object-fit.asp

Maybe the theme developer can help you with that.

Yes, I’m aware and using CSS and object-fit, still – it’s not the same thing.
So, you don’t think there will be such an option?

For now that’s not possible, @eddr. Unfortunately, I don’t have a fast solution for you. But FIFU is walking to support multiple image URLs. The objective is not to solve style issues, but performance issues. And it still will take months to be ready. Anyway, it will open the door for new features and your suggestion may be implemented if there are more users interested on that.

Say, how about using the shortcode feature (premium) for this purpose?
The question is – is the shortcode evaluated on runtime or it is being evaluated once and saved in DB?

    Thank

    Hi, @eddr.

Unfortunately, by this forum rules, I’m not authorized to talk about any paid features/components/services here, otherwise I can be punished. You would need to contact me in a different way.
