Mobile UX – Swipe

You can see the issue on the posted link, but the same behavior is encountered on the plugin demos. On mobile, tested on iOS and Android, when a user tries to swipe/scroll within the swatches’ hit box, the swatch becomes selected – registers as a click instead of a swipe gesture – and the page does not scroll.

When a product has a large amount of attributes that fill a good portion of the screen, this makes scroll navigation very difficult for the user because first, they have to notice what is happening and why, and then they have to guess and test how to overcome it by only swiping in the margins between the swatches. This makes for a cumbersome user experience on mobile.
