• I really like the plugin but am very frustrated. I have read all available directions and my mobile theme is still showing to desktop users. I use W3TC

    Here’s my setting
WP Touch user agents, W3TC page cache, minify, cdn user agents field all have these agents,

    Android & Mobile
    aspen
    bada
    BB & Mobile Safari
    BB10
    BlackBerry & Mobile Safari
    blackBerry9360
    blackBerry9370
    blackBerry9380
    blackberry9500
    blackberry9520
    blackberry9530
    blackBerry9550
    blackBerry9780
    blackBerry9790
    blackBerry9800
    blackBerry9810
    blackBerry9850
    blackBerry9860
    blackBerry9900
    blackBerry9930
    cupcake
    dream
    Firefox & Mobile
    froyo
    IEMobile/10 & Touch
    IEMobile/11 & Touch
    IEMobile/7.0
    IEMobile/9.0
    incognito
    iPad
    iPhone & Mobile
    iPod & Mobile
    Nexus 7
    P160U
    PlayBook
    s8000
    SCH-I800
    Touch
    webmate
    webos
    Xoom

    and in w3tc I added in Googlebot-Mobile

In the w3 user agents I have it enabled with pass through.

Can anyone help me. I wrote to bravenewcode but haven’t heaard anything. Funny thing is I’d buy the pro version of this plugin for 5 sites but I am apprehensive since I can’t get the free version to work so why would the pro version work?

I know there are some people who claim to have this working and I hoping they will share some insight.

  • I too have a full browser on a laptop showing the mobile theme presently — no documentation that I can find re: how that could happen. Would be very interested in a fix as well!

Miz.Michelle, I just got it back in working order:

    1. updated to the latest version: 3.2.4.1

    2. I use WP Super Cache — cleared ALL cache (expired or not).

    3. Logged out, and viewed the site, and it was “fixed”.

Hope this might work for you as well…

@3cstudio. Thanks for the input. I use w3 total cache and I could consider using WP Super Cache – I use it on another site but I think part of the issue might be that I use cloudflare. Do you by chance us cloudflare? I need to find a solution.

No, sorry…. I do utilize nginx (server side caching), but I would imagine Cloudflare has a few more components that would require some sort of refresh or preferences reset. Is that something Cloudflare would provide feedback on, or have past case studies to compare to?

The issue is a result of the caching software overriding the mobile theme with incorrect content (not an issue with WPtouch). It is common and easily resolved.

You may configure your caching plugin and/or service not to cache mobile pages nor to serve cached pages when mobile devices are detected. To do so, enter the user agents found in the documentation link below to the “rejected user agents” areas in your caching plugin’s settings. Remember to clear your plugin, browser, and device caches before retesting. If needed, manually delete all cached files from the server via FTP.

Thank you — I see the alert now in the top-right corner of the WPtouch ‘dashboard’ under Notifications. I’ve added the list of User Agents as you suggested, and will see how that works for the site.

    Thanks again,

    S
