• We have a Network with over 30 Websites in it.
We use the Broadcast Plugin when creating Posts and Pages (for holiday greeting, guides, etc.) to broadcast them from the Network to all the websites that are within it.

After many years, we noticed the following error:

When you try to share a link (via the mobile share function) from one of the webpages that got broadcasted, it doesn't share the correct link. Instead, it shares the original network link.

    Example:

    https://gartenmarkt-meisenbach.de/ratgeber/beet-balkon/lust-auf-fruehling/

This is the link we want to share. When we hit the share button on our mobile phone to share it with someone via WhatsApp, it pulls this link instead:

    https://netzwerk.egesagarten.de/ratgeber/beet-balkon/lust-auf-fruehling/

This happens on iPhones and Androids, safari, chrome, etc.

It DOES work and pulls the correct URL, when using the "Google pixels google search bar" to navigate to the website (rather than opening the chrome app).

I have absolutely no clue how to influence the link that gets pulled. The fact that it works when you use the Google search bar on a pixel to get to the website and then click the share button adds even more confusion!

Does anyone know anything about this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

First, check that you have not enabled the Broadcast “use parent permalink” SEO option, and that the BC permalinks add-on is not activated and messing with the permalinks.

Is the original site’s URL being stored anywhere? In the post meta? In a separate table in the database?

What plugin do you use to mobile share? Where does it get the post’s URL from?
