    Hi all,

I’m using the Argent theme and overall I’m quite happy with it. But, when using an iPhone, the pictures loading in the lightbox is really slow (once you select a specific project and click on a picture). When the initial picture finally loads, the scrolling left/right via the lightbox is really slow, too.

Any ideas on how to improve this performance, or certain settings I should play with? I already have enabled “Speed up images and photos” in Jetpack (in the Media section).

    THANKS!

Hi there, I took a look at some of your images in Ballarat, and they range from 1.x MB to 7 MB on the ones I checked. For the web, and especially for those that might be on slower wi-fi connections on a phone or tablet, it is best to keep the images well under 1 MB in file size. Generally I try and keep them down at 200k or less. With your panoramic images, that might not be possible, but I would suggest you optimize your images as best you can. I would keep normal images landscape and portrait at 200k or less, and then for any panoramic images, try and get them under 2 MB.

Thanks @saredpath…I’ll definitely have to go in and relook at image size and scale some down. This is my first blog I’ve done, so it’s still new to me. But, that’s what I thought Smush (via EnviraGallery) was supposed to do…shrink your images to more manageable sizes.

    Appreciate your feedback!

You are welcome. I’m not familiar with Shush, but from a quick scan of the description, yes, I would think it should too.
