So say I have users that put up MP3 files on my site and the customer uses a mobile device to buy it, do they have to use their computer to download it or can they download it from their mobile device. I would just like to know how that works or is there something you have to do to make it work. If anyone could help that would be great, thanks!

There is no open “file system” on most phones like you have on a computer. Where would this download too? There are apps and such for downloading files off of a web browser, but phone’s do not work like computers and can’t simply download from the default browser.

@irmesala99, the purpose is so people that use WooCommerce can help others that do. You aren’t entitled to getting free support because you use a free plugin.

    Thank you!
Android has a folders and files system. How come that doesn’t work for mp3 and mp4 downloads?

Sure, I can download any file thru my mobile Chrome browser (pdf, mp3, jpg, doc, exl, etc.).
The problem occurs only with my WooCommerce website both on Android and iOS.

AFAIK, iOS has no built in download options for safari.

Sounds like you can on android though. Have you tried different download methods at WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Downloadable Products? Also try different file types, like just a simple pdf.

Yup, tried’em all with no luck.
There must be another hack to it, which I’m not aware of.
Probably need to contract a distributor for iTunes, Spotify etc (who’s the top one for Android devices?) & add various DL buttons to all mp3 products in my online shop.

Pretty sure iTunes/Spotify don’t let you download song files from them in a mobile browser. They may have download buttons, but it’ll take you to their apps.
