To be clear there was another problem with OceanWP, which has been fixed. But the mobile menu not working on the front page seems related to Elementor when I looked at code. I asked someone else to have a look as well and they came to the same conclusion. However the original designer used Elementor and Beaver Builder to create different sections of the site. Please note that I didn’t build this site, so am troubleshooting.

I’ve fixed the problem. There was a conflict between Elementor plugin and another one that the original designer had used. I have removed the other plugin. OceanWP and Elementor are working.

Problem not fixed after all, but unsure that the problem is with Elementor, but it began after the Elementor update (the designer didn’t use the PRO version). It could be another plugin so still looking.

There appears to be a problem in the code. Someone sent me a github link that suggests a fix. Trying it and will update.

Someone sent me a link that posted a fix from august on github that says to fix error within getCurrentDeviceMode function.

    https://github.com/pojome/elementor/pull/2264

I understand from various helpful people that Elementor works well with different themes, so not everyone has this issue. Unfortunately the site was designed by someone else and this is my first time using Elementor. The problem appears to stem from within the Elementor code.

Could someone from Elementor respond to this?

    Hi!

I’m having the same issue, i added the “fix” suggested in:

    https://github.com/pojome/elementor/pull/2264/files#diff-9b50bfb64bd2792ebdca1ffb3c249a70

But it is still not working. I’m running the latest version of:
    WP: 4.9.1
    Elementor: 1.8.11
    OceanWP: 1.4.10

    Any suggestions?

I am using WPOcean theme also, it was recommended as one of the sites that works well with Elementor, I love both of these. But, the mobile version is a mess: I edit the mobile version, add the menu, fix sizes of images to appear smaller, and nothing changes after I save these changes. (In Elementor) I don’t know how to fix it, but as mobile is becoming more and more important these days, I want mobile to work.

I found someone who can fix the issue as long as you don’t do any major edits to the homepage.

    Hello Elementor-
I am having the same issue with the mobile menu using oceanwp theme.
I have worked with the oceanwp folks and they say the following:
    oceanwp wrote:
Hello @ilovetojeep, I see this JS error in your console “elementor is not defined”, this is why the mobile menu doesn’t work, contact Elementor to ask them to solve the error in the console, that will solve the mobile menu issue too.

I love using Elementor as it makes this whole wp thing pretty easy… Hopefully you can help me out with this.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

Hi David, I visited the website linked to your profile, is this the one with the issue? I can see the mobile menu isn’t working. Looks like the same problem I used to have. The fix given on github didn’t work for me either but did find a workaround. I found someone through Facebook who I had to pay to do the fix because I, in the end doubted myself, after receiving no adequate support from Elementor. I think Elementor is good except in this instance. OceanWP, on the other hand, were very supportive, even though the issue wasn’t theirs, they did their best and would use their software again.

    Hey Marva-
Yes my site with a problem is https://www.naturesbloom.net
I am still having issues getting the mobile menu to work from the home page.
It is crazy… Menu works from all other pages.
I am looking at maybe adding a “mobile” button just below the header that guides you to my store. From there the menu works fine.
Oceanwp product and support is the BOMB. Kinda disappointed that Elementor has not even responded.

Hi David, you might find someone to help you in a WordPress freelancers group on Facebook. That’s what I had to do in the end, and it was a programmer in the Divi Freelancers group who helped me

Hello, I have a similar problem.
    My site is : https://www.fitermo.com
The Menu button doesn’t work on mobile devices, I have tried with deactivating of plugins and it didn’t fix itself, I don’t know what to do to fix this, can anyone help me?
