• I’ve been away from working on my site for a while and when I returned, I had a them update. I updated the Olsen Light theme and now the mobile menu in my child theme is broken. When I visit the site on an IOS device and select the menu, no menu appears and the functionality of the page becomes very limited.

When I visit the site on an Android device, all of the menu items appear permanently below the menu icon.

When I switch away from my child theme to the Olsen Light theme, the menu comes up as an overlay, but my other modifications are lost.

Any recommendations into how to fix my child theme?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,
Does this happen in the parent theme? I believe you will need to update your child theme files to the new version, since we changed the mobile menu script.

Let me know if you need additional help with this.

Thanks, Fotis. It did not happen with the parent theme. I merged my changes with the new theme files in my child theme. I think everything is good now except for a few weird things.

There were some alignment issues as well but I think those were related to the GRID changes? Seems to be fine now.

I’m still having some weird renderings of the menu on my Android device. My chrome browser is still showing the bulleted menu but when I open an incognito tab, everything looks fine. Any reason to think it isn’t just caching? I can’t seem to get it to work even after clearing browser settings. Firefox renders fine though.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
yes, it looks fine now, I noticed in Chrome for android and Safari the behaviour of the menu is fine, can you share a screenshot?

No worries, it’s working again. I had to fully log out of Chrome which cleared all settings and data from the device. When I checked the site after that it worked fine, even after I logged back into Chrome.

    Thank you!

    Awesome!
