Mobile menu dropdown not appearing when using child theme

I have a child theme that i use to add styles to the parent engrave-lite theme. Everything works fine, except when i view the site in a browser emulator for mobile phones, the site menu does not appear in a dropdown select box, like it does in the parent theme?

I should just add that switching back to the parent theme, the mobile friendly dropdown menu does appear when viewing on a mobile phone.

No other files have been altered.
