I just updated to the most recent version of Tesseract: 3.8.9

After the updated, the mobile menu now displays in my header while on a laptop or desktop (Header Options -> Mobile Menu). If I disable the Mobile Menu feature, it disappears from the header, and of course disappears from the mobile version. If I re-enable, it displays again for both.

I have also tried going into an editor to change the settings on the Mobile Menu to “Small Devices Only”, but the Mobile Menu does not have a Settings option to do this.

How can I remove the mobile menu from laptop/desktop displays?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I am having the same issue!

When I visited your webpage, it looked like you resolved the problem. What did you do to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Scot

I resolved it with a big fight with CSS. No easy answers on this one, at least to my knowledge. I inserted the word “MENU” with the content property. And the solution wasn’t that great, but good enough.

The website I was having the problem with isn’t my primary website, so quite honestly, I had forgotten about the problem. I just reviewed the menu, and it does in fact seem to be displaying properly again. I wish I had a better answer for you, @sksugden. It just seems to have resolved itself.

I am having the same issue that @katiefitz originally described, where I am not able to customize the navigation menu display independently for each device type; big device (i.e. desktop), medium device (i.e tablet/iPad), and small device (i.e. smart phone). If I enable or disable the mobile menu, the change happens globally.

I wonder @katiefitz if the laptop you used that showed the mobile menu on your website was small and so was using the medium device settings? If so, I’m guessing that the problem was not solve just that the navigation menu was displayed different because you used a different device screen size to view the website? Hope I make sense.

Hey @erodriguezart, yes, I have a small laptop, Mac Book Pro 13″, however I never experienced the original problem before upgrading to Tesseract: 3.8.9. And as noted in my last post, the issue resolved, which I assume was the result of some other change in an upgrade. Now I have a weird blue line next to my Call to Action button. Go figure.

Honestly, I delay applying any upgrade to Tesseract for as long as possible because I know when I upgrade, something is going to go wonky and I’ll have to spend the next day or so trying to figure out how to fix it or create a work-around.

Best of luck figuring it out!

    Thanks for the feedback Katie.
