I took me a while to get this working properly.
The issue turned out to be that I had already configured the native WordPress menu to scroll to ID links on my single page website.
Example: #portfolio, #about-us, #contact-us
This conflicted with the Shiftnav “scroll to” link feature.
The key to solving this for me was making a separate menu for Shiftnav with menu items that had no links. Use the native Shiftnav “scroll to” feature. You must also activate the check box labeled (Disable Current “Disable the current menu item classes for this item”).
Both of these setting are found in WordPress menu section. When you hover your mouse over one of the menu items you will see a little sprocket and the word “shift” appear. Click on the tiny button and the Shiftnav options will appear at the bottom of the page. (Tip: Make sure you click save after editing each menu item.)
(Important Note: I tried to leave my native wordpress menu ID links and also add them to Shiftnav but this prevented Shiftnav from closing when the items were clicked.)
