• I noticed that images on my site were blurry on mobile only. After installing a plugin that forces wordpress to use higher quality images and a regenerate thumbnails plugin, I noticed the images were still blurry.

Then I noticed my phone wasn’t connected to wi-fi and was only using 4G LTE. When I connected to wi-fi, cleared the cache and reloaded the website, the images looked fine. I disconnected from the wi-fi, went back to 3G, cleared the cache and reloaded the website and once again the images are blurry.

Is there a way to force wordpress to load better images when connected to 4G? I’ve been on plenty of websites on 4G and haven’t had this issue before. Any ideas?

That sounds like either you have something on your blog delivering lower quality images to slower connections, something on your phone that loads lower quality images over slower connections, or your cell provider is giving you lower quality images over slower connections.

None of that happens in WordPress standard.

I can’t get your site to load right now, so I can’t check, but if you still have the same problem with all plugins temporarily deactivated and the Twenty Fifteen theme in use, then the problem is most likely your phone or cell provider (unless you’re also loading your site through a reverse proxy, like Cloudflare or mod_pagespeed).
