    Hi there,

I am having problems with Google refusing to show an image in mobile search results despite uploading/specifying featured image, organization logo, social media image for social media accounts.

I did check the page schema output with Google Structured data and in Yoast preview for mobile search but I cannot find any problems there. The Yoast preview works as expected, no errors in Google Structured Data Tool > #logo and #primaryimage are correctly specified.

I am using Yoast free plugin as the only SEO/schema tool on this page.

    Thanks for your help.

    Best Regards

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Does the image meet Google’s guidelines here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/article#article-types? We output that image into the source code with instructions that tell Google to use that image. If the image does not meet Google’s guidelines, Google may decide to not use it.

    Hi Maybellyne,

thanks for a swift reply. I think the image does meet Google requirements:

    – Only a marked-up image that directly belongs to the article should be specified.
(not sure > homepage not article)
    – Images should be at least 1200 pixels wide.
    (it is > 1920x1279px)
    – Every page must contain at least one image (whether or not you include markup).
    (it does)
    – Google will pick the best image to display in Search results based on the aspect ratio and resolution.
(google picks no image at all)
    – Image URLs must be crawlable and indexable.
    (it is > robots ok)
    – Image must represent the marked up content.
    (it does > yacht shown)
    – The file format must be supported by Google Images.
    (it is > standard jpeg)
    – For best results, provide multiple high-resolution images (minimum of 800,000 pixels when multiplying width and height) with the following aspect ratios: 16×9, 4×3, and 1×1
(don’t know how to achieve that in Yoast)

    Thanks

    Hello,

Since our plugin is generating the schema markup as expected and your image meets the guidelines, we are not sure why Google doesn’t show an image in mobile search results. We recommend contacting Google for further assistance by making a post on their forum here https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.

They should be able to provide you with additional information as to how to get image thumbnails in the search results.
