• I have selected the mobile menu option “dropdown”. Everything is working fine with it; except that the link of the category which activates the dropdown list does not work.

E.g. I open the mobile menu. The dropdown list appears. Afterwards I open a category and the dropdown list appears. The links within the category dropdown list work. But the link to the category itself does not work.

Unfortunately, this may have also affected the Google indexing! According to search console the category pages which contain dropdown lists are not being indexed.

Update: I changed dropdown aim from link to symbol and now it works. According to google search console the page has become crawlable again. How can such a function make the page uncrawlable?

Well, I have an update myself. I have digged deeper into current Google indexing issues. It seems that especially domains with lower domain authority are literally getting kicked out of Google index if they have minor issues loading some scripts (especially Java). And as Ocean WP is still quite loaded with scripts there is some of room for “errors in the eye of Google”. Unfortunately if the page only shows one error or warning when examining the page, Google Search Console is telling you that there is a “crawling anamoly”. Thus the page is not getting indexed.

This cause of not getting indexed becomes really ridiculous when examining “google.com” itself. Sometimes even on google.com such issues are shown depending on your browser.

This issue seems to appear since the May and June Google SEO Updates. In order to cope with these Updates I had to switch to a lightweight theme.
