• Hello, I am using responsive theme. I am confused about Mobile Device Support settings. Should I enable it or leave it disabled in order to serve cached pages on mobile devices?

If I have to enable it, then it says external plugin or theme is required. What does that mean exactly? Which plugin would be simple and best? Jetpack and all look with too many other things which I don’t need.

    Can someone help please?

    Thanks in advance.

  • You can leave it disabled.

I would also like to know what it means. It says see FAQ for details but that doesnt explain what it means.

Does turning it off completely disable all caching on mobile devices or does it just disable a separation of caches for mobile vs non-mobile? Such an important thing that isn’t explained in the slightest.

The mobile device support is for when you have another plug-in which generates a mobile version of your site.

This predates the adoption of responsive design. I agree the details are lacking and it is confusing.
