Thank you for your report. I assume you are using this plugin I found in the WordPress Repository:
FileBird – WordPress Media Library Folders
By Ninja Team
Is that right? I installed a copy of this plugin’s free “FileBird Lite” version on my system and ran a few tests, creating a folder and adding some images to it. With or without MLA active, the WordPress Media/Library submenu page shows the correct information, files and folders working as intended. Is that the case on your system, or is there a problem with the Media/Library screen?
With MLA active, the Media/Assistant submenu page shows all of the Media Library items, without folder structures along the left side of the page. Is this the issue you are reporting?
I accessed the RS7 Photography page you provided a link to, but of course cannot get to the admin screens on that site. I am not sure if there are any errors with the front end of that site you are experiencing.
There are many “media library folders” plugins in the Repository, and they all take a different approach to adding their features to the WordPress platform. I have looked at several over the years and determined that it would take significant time and development effort to attempt an integration of their features with MLA, even if their authors were willing to make the changes required in their plugins to facilitate the work. I regret that I do not have the time required to undertake such an effort.
That said, I do try to ensure that MLA “does no harm” and I have made changes in the past that allow these plugins to continue operating with the WordPress Media/Library pages. If there are any specific problems with Filebird when MLA is active, any additional details you can provide will help me investigate further. Thanks for your understanding and your interest in MLA.
