Hello. I just changed hosts, and duplicated a site using MLA, that worked and found the images in the library using the category dropdown correctly… I duolicated the entire site and database into a subdomian on new host, finished the site, then moved all the files and made the site the root site, updated URLs, twice, etc.

Even before then, while on the development subdomain, the MLA was not finding/displaying any images for categories using the category dropdown. It worked perrfectly on the old site, but on my new site every single category just says “No Items Found.”

Can you tell me what is wrong and how do I get the MLA to associate the images with the categories? I can still see all of the images in Media Library and they all still have the Att. Categories checked, that all seems correct. It’s just not finding them or associating them with the categories.

I used Velvet Update URLs and then did the find/replace in PHPmyadmin SQL in wp_posts to update the image links, don’t know if that messed it up. But all images are there and all categories are still there so seems like it should display them when using the category dropdown just like the old site. Thanks! My last problem and important! ??

Thanks for your question and for the details you provided. I know from personal experience that moving a WordPress site from one server to another can be complicated and error-prone. Any number of details can cause symptoms like the ones you describe.

You wrote “MLA was not finding/displaying any images for categories using the category dropdown.” Are you referring to the “Att. Categories” dropdown control in the top navigation area of the Media/Assistant admin screen or something on the front end of the site?

Without looking at the site it’s hard to know where to begin. If you can give me a temporary account on the site (or on the subdomain/development site if it still exists) I would be happy to investigate further. I realize that may not be possible. If it is possible, give me your contact details be sending a message from the Contact Us page at our web site:

I will respond with more information and an address where you can send the login information. Thanks for your understanding and your interest in the plugin.

Thanks for your vote of confidence in granting me access to your site. Thanks especially for pressing on and solving the problem before I could get to it!

I am happy to know that the problem was a conflict with another plugin and that you could remove the other plugin without harming the site’s functioning. I am marking this topic resolved, but please let me know if there’s anything else I can do.
