For years |I have been using the excellent mla shorrtcode to select a list of pdfs with specific categories. Until this month it has always displayed the filename but it is now displaying a poor quality “thumbnail” of the pdf instead. Older pdfs are still shown as filenames only those uploaded this month show thumbnails. Can I suppress this behaviour.
    [mla_gallery category=trustees post_mime_type=all link=file columns=4 ?orderby=name order=DESC].

Thanks for the positive feedback and for your question.

For the last several versions WordPress has been generating thumbnail images for all PDF documents uploaded to the Media Library. MLA includes a Media/Assistant “Thumbnails” bulk action to generate thumbnails for older documents uploaded before WordPress made its own enhancements. It’s a feature…

You can suppress the thumbnail display by adding a size=none parameter to your [mla_gallery] shortcode. On the Settings/Media Library Assistant Documentation tab the “Size” documentation says:

none – Suppress thumbnail display and substitute the title of the item.

The default Title value for PDF documents is usually some variation of the file name, so the resulting display should be what you are hoping for.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the above suggestions. Thanks for our interest in the plugin.
