Mkdir issues – what do I need to change?

    I can install and do the settings on the plugin but when I try to run it manually I receive:

    Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/XXXXXX.com.au/demowp2/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/job/job_start.php on line 165

    Fatal error: Can not create folder for backups: /public_html/XXXXXX.com.au/demowp2/backupstest/ in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/XXXXXX.com.au/demowp2/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/job/job_start.php on line 166

    I was trying back up to email.

    Line 165 doesn’t seem to be doing a MKDIR as far as I can tell that happens I few lines back (I’m not a programmer in this language).

    I tried changing the folder permissions but maybe I changed the incorrect folders since that didn’t seem to help.

    Any suggestions welcome.
