Mixed Feelings: Nice plugin, but loading speed could be better

I was very surprised that the Popup Maker plugin slowed down a site I was working on quite a lot compared to other plugins (as measured by the Google page speed insights test).

It really is a great plugin, with lots of options, features, etc and I would still recommend it in certain cases where having cool popups is worth more than page speed. However, I have to give it 4 stars because it’s just too slow for my use of only 1 popup on the site (the tradeoff isn’t worth it).

For reference, it was an on-click popup (when a link was clicked it opened) with a few paragraphs of text (no images or anything else).
