misuse of personal email

    Hi,

    After adding this plugin, this plugin used the email address stored on my wordpress site to send marketing communications to me. This is really disrespectful of my privacy and peace. Please remove this functionality from your plugin.

  • Hi @360directwp,

    Thanks for reaching out. The sender of the email is set in “From Email” of WP Mail SMTP settings. If you have checked “Force From Email”, all the emails will be sent from this “From Email”. If you’re going to change this, please make sure the email address you put is authenticated by the SMTP provider you’re choosing.

    I don’t think you understood my request.

    I received marketing communications from WP Mail SMTP.

    Can you please tell me how you got my email address?

    Hi @360directwp,

    The plugin does not collect the site’s email addresses by default. You probably opted to receive emails (https://a.supportally.com/o1CNBY) while using the setup wizard. You can unsubscribe by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the bottom of the emails that you’re receiving.
