    Missing XML tag
    This required tag is missing. Please add it and resubmit.

    Sitemap: virtualvalerie.net/sitemap-pt-newjewelry-2017-08.xml
    Parent tag: urlset
    Tag: url

    Only a problem on the custom post type.

    To my eyes there doesn’t appear to be a problem. Validating elsewhere shows no errors.

  • Snap, I have exactly the same problem. Just one problem on the CPT. The xml is empty, which causes the error.

    How do we remove the offending empty sitemap?

    Hey, Go into your themes function.php file and go all the way to the bottom and clear out any spaces up to the last line of code. Make sure you change nothing else but the spaces after all the code. Save and refresh and go test the sitemap page your seeing errors with. This fixed the issue for me, hope it does for you too.
