Missing wp-config Error…file isn’t missing

Can’t navigate to https://www.modernforager.com/ it sets the address to https://www.modernforager.com/blog ?

I have an index.php redirect in the site root. One day the root is going to become a storefront.

Yes, wp-config.php in the /blog folder.

My host is Laderweb, who has been having some troubles lately. I’m considering switching to GoDaddy or some other. Suggestions on that? Would my host matter with WP not finding the config file?

If you put the script, that is describe in Finding_server_info, in your blog folder, can you navigate to that and see the PHP info?

Please delete that phpinfo.php file now–just wanted to make sure that you were putting files in the correct place.

This statement confuses me:

My Admin tool works fine except that I can’t load any of the pages for my plugins.

What is the Admin tool you are referring to?

Oh…gotcha. Yeah, all the files are in the right place. This install has been up and running for a month now, give or take. I went out of town Friday, came back yesterday and was faced with that error. Even reuploading all of the files hasn’t done anything and now my Admin side says it can’t open the plugins directory even though it’s all there.

that means it is finding the database.

I wonder if that redirect or something in your .htaccess is messing with you.

It was all working until sometime after Friday around 4pm (when I left town). Going directly to https://www.modernforager.com/blog/index.php gets the same error. This is running on a Windows box, so that means no .htaccess right? Why would the redirect affect the blog directory?

Switching hosts got the blog back up and running. This can be closed.
