    Hi, After the last update I realised that I am unable to select a venue or organisers from the drop down list. both drop down list objects has disappeared from the event admin page.

    It was all good up until the latest release.

    Hi,

    We just wanted to let you know that a fix has been released for this issue!

    Please try updating and let us know if you are experiencing any further issues. As always, we recommend running updates on your?staging site?before doing so on your live site, just to be on the safe side.

    Thanks again for your patience while we worked on getting this fixed!

    Hi @jaimemarchwinski
    Thanks for the update, unfortunately the new update has not resolved the issue.
    I still cannot see the drop down list. but as soon as disable UsersWP plugin the lists appear again.

    No idea what the conflict is but it seems to remain in effect.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Exactly the same here, issue not fixed, with latest Version 5.1.2 of TEC… Issue occurring with Advanced Custom Fields in this case, when it is activated the Venue and Organizer drop-downs disappear… Deactivate ACF and the drop-downs reappear…

    Plus a whole huge lot of errors showing up in the console seemingly related to TEC that go away when ACF is deactivated and the TEC drop-downs reappear… Many more errors in groupings than before when I reported here on the issue, with error groupings accumulating even as it just sits there and nothing is happening…

    I have a Dev/Test WP installation set up and no-indexed in its own duplicate dedicated cPanel with a duplicate of the site with this active issue, and I am willing to give you admin access to that installation via the ticket for this issue that I opened a while back on your TEC site… Here is the link to that ticket on the TEC site through which you can contact me for this possibility – https://support.theeventscalendar.com/ticket_pCKdKiNZFmJHWTMo
    The ticket # there is MDN-KNTVP-488

    I’m sorry to hear that you are both still experiencing this issue.

    It sounds like a plugin conflict with the UsersWP plugin for you @mabdulla and a plugin conflict with ACF for @crzyhrse.

    Can either of you provide me with the errors that you are seeing when the combination of plugins are enabled?

    It would also be helpful if you could share your system information here:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/sharing-your-system-information/

    Thanks,

    Hi Jamie,

    Thank you for your reply…

    If you will go to the ticket I have linked you to here, on your TEC site, you will see that I already did both of these things early on…

    Here is the link and ticket number again…

    The ticket # is MDN-KNTVP-488

    I have also now offered access to a Dev site where you can see and explore the issue, for yourself, via the above linked ticket on your TEC site… Please contact me via that ticket if you want this access…

    ACF is a very highly rated and very widely used and respected plugin…

    Hi @mabdulla

    Thanks for providing us with this information again.

    What I’m seeing here is a Select2 CSS conflict between our plugin and the other plugin that you are using.

    We have recently made updates here, which was when I contacted you within this thread.

    As a next step, can you try reaching out to the other plugin developers and see if there’s anything on their end that needs to be taken care of to resolve this issue?

    Let me know how that goes and if you need further assistance on this one over here!

    Thanks,
    Jaime

    Hi @jaimemarchwinski

    Not sure I understand. if you made some correction why isn’t it working on my site?
    I know that you were able to replicate the issue so have you been able to resolve it on your installation? are you not getting the same issue I am?

    It seems that the date dropdown calendar is also broken

    Is there a way to rollback to the version prior to it failing? or;
    Is there a custom CSS I can use to go around this issue?

    Thank you
    Ma’en

    Hi @jaimemarchwinski

    The issue continues for me as well, since your last update 12-14 hours ago… I am also not at all understanding what you are saying… “Select2 CSS conflict“..??? I am hoping you are reading back through this ticket, to stay present with it…?

    In an early response in this thread @bordoni (on your plugin team) seems to suggest he is aware of at least some things about the issue and that it appears to relate to something regarding “selectWoo” that was a part of the update this very issue appeared with, and that he is able to duplicate the issue with ACF which is the plugin TEC is having the issue with for me… ??

    You now seem to be saying you are able to duplicate it with the plugin @mabdulla has identified it having an issue with in his case…???

    This issue appeared without any prior indications upon a VERY specific update of your plugin, is very easy to repeat with two very different plugins, one of them hugely well regarded and rated, and very widely used, even more so than TEC, the other plugin at least to some degree well regarded, rated and used, and both plugins recently updated…

    The issue was not there before the specific update to your plugin mentioned at the beginning of this thread, and two different members of your team now seem to recognize and are able to repeat the issue(s) at least to some degree…

    It has not been my experience that other plugin authors are greatly willing to take responsibility for something that seems to be related to another plugin having an issue with theirs, particularly even perhaps when the issue arises simultaneously with two very different plugins on the very same update to the questioned plugin…??

    It would seem to me that if you are believing two other respected plugins are having issues with a recent update to your plugin then it would be appropriate for you as plugin author to contact them with what you are thinking…?? TEC is also a well regarded plugin… I don’t know but perhaps there are even channels for this sort of thing that are only available to WordPress plugin authors, to engage with each other…??? I don’t know, but perhaps even on Slack somewhere…?

    Here are screenshots, once again, just taken…

    And here is a ticket opened in TEC’s support helpdesk on this issue…
    https://support.theeventscalendar.com/ticket_pCKdKiNZFmJHWTMo

    I have also offered a dev/test site via the above support helpdesk ticket with this issue very apparent, for you to examine it…

    Between the above TEC ticket and this WordPress thread there are now four of you on the TEC plugin team looking at this issue…

    @jaimemarchwinski
    @bordoni
    @santiago
    @sarah

    Maaaaaybeee you all should talk to each other…???

    Hi @crzyhrse and @mabdulla,

    I am so sorry for taking so long to respond to this topic, I haven’t been able to focus on this issue until a couple hours ago.

    The main problem is that when we reproduced this problem locally we got it solved by the solution introduced on our latest update.

    It seems like the solution that solved the problem locally for us didn’t apply to the bug you all are experiencing.

    I say that to explain a little bit of what @jaimemarchwinski, @santiago, and @sarah mentioned, before. Also with the fact that this was identified and a CSS module problem inside of the Select2 codebase, which is why that was mentioned.

    So the problem isn’t necessarily with ACF, there is some other plugin or theme specifically including Select2 without using the Full Package, which we need in our case, so it ends up looking like a compatibility problem specific with ACF, but with a default theme, ACF and TEC the problem is not present on all my tests, in the case of UsersWP I couldn’t reproduce the problem and assumed it was the same problem.

    @crzyhrse thanks for the dev site setup, will hop on to that tomorrow and try to figure out a more specific fix.

    I will work more on this so that on our next maintenance release we can push a fix for the problem, again I am sorry that you both are experiencing this problem.

    best regards,

    Hi @bordoni,

    Thank you for responding so promptly in these moments…

    Contact me via the TEC support helpdesk ticket on this issue that I linked above, and I will give you site link and admin credentials via the ticket, for you to look into it…

    Kind regards…

    Hi @bordoni
    What is the current status of this issue?
    is there anything you need from me to help resolve the issue?
    Do you wish to get access to a clone copy of the site?
    Regards
    Ma’en

    Hi @mabdulla & @bordoni,

    Just to inform, I am still waiting to hear from @bordoni via the TEC support helpdesk ticket on this issue I linked above… I have received other replies from other TEC folks via that ticket so I believe it still generates emails to me… The last communication there was 17 days ago from @santiago saying he was transferring that ticket to @bordoni

    Kind regards,
    John.

    Hi @bordoni,

    I replied to your request in the support ticket on your TEC site, for access to a dev site with the issue happening… I offered this possibility to you all perhaps 3 weeks ago, so I am happy you are finally taking us up on it… @mabdulla has also made this offer…

    I checked it again just a few minutes ago, with everything on the dev site updated to latest, and the issue remains…

    See in the TEC ticket for admin access to the dev site…

    At the moment ACF is activated and the issue is there, the aforementioned drop-downs gone… You will also see a whole lot of Javascript errors in your browser’s developer console… Deactivate ACF and reload the backend of an event and the drop-downs having the issue will reappear and the JS errors will go away…

    The primary site this site is a clone of is still under a little bit of additional development, and because it is also public and active I use the below dev site to test things… So I would like you to get on this right away, so that I can once again have it available for testing without you or your colleagues in there changing things around…

    I have made a backup of the site (it is a very complex one), so that if something happens in there while you are messing around, I can quickly restore it… Just let me know…

    And just to be clear, this issue happens with two different plugins, at least, as you know… It also appeared after a very specific update to the plugin, as you know… It also seems you all have had some ideas what the issue may be…

    Do know I appreciate being able to use the free version of your plugin, and want to be as helpful as I am able…

    Kind regards,
    John.
