• Before I ask my question, I want to make a quick comment. WordPress is like a breath of fresh air. It actually has me excited about my website again. Everyone here so far has been super nice and great help. Thanks

Ok, WordPress is about a week old for me and slowly but surely I’m getting things the way I want. I decided to take a break from changing the look and adding mods, and decided to research on optimizing wordpress from a SEO perspective.

In doing my research and reading, I started to read all kind of posts about submitting wordpress to blog directories and so on. This threw me because I thought that their was a built in function that already did this for you.

    It is this:

    https://rpc.pingomatic.com/

Am I missing the point? I wasn’t going to do any submission of wordpress thinking that the above link does it for me everytime a article is added. I’m new to this pinging stuff and maybe I’m not thinking correctly that the above link does it all for me.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks

p.s. I know the internal seo stuff is a different story and I will be working on my internal seo work like meta-tags, keywords, etc.

  • You post, it pings and everywhere it pings should send it’s bot steaming in to see what you’ve got.
https://pingomatic.com/ shows them all – as you probably know – and google is probably pulling your feed so I’d not wory about visibility ??

Thanks, so I really don’t have to do anything, right? I don’t have to register with pingomatic.com or anything, right? If I understand everthing is built into wordpress and all I have to do is post articles, right?

when i go to pingomatic.com it looks like you have to check the different servcies and submit your url, but if I’m understanding this al, wordpress does all this for me.

    thanks

It does do it all, yes.

There are other services (pingoat) you could put into the update services box, and if you need a specialist audience which can send out pings you could add that too – but multiple pinging is frowned upon.

You should do fine with what you have.
You could always use a feedreader that scans sources like Blogdigger, technorati and monitor them for a search with your blog in it.
