Missing the css.stylesheet

  • Hello,
    I have been following a Udemy course about making a graphic. I have a domain and wordpress installed. I an trying to upload the graphic i want on my site.

    The image was saved as Jpeg and then it was a zip file.

    I then got a message as follows:

    Installing Theme from uploaded file: Dane-circle-+gold globe-coloured2.zip

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

    Theme install failed.

    Can somebody tell what is a css.stylesheet. How can i correct the problem.
    Easy steps please as i am new to all this.

    What are you referring to by graphics? Are you referring to media (pictures, videos, audio, etc.)? If so then why are you putting them all in a zip file and trying to upload it through the theme uploader? That doesn’t make any sense. Try going to the media section in your dashboard and clicking add new. Then select the images you want and they will be added to your website.

    Can somebody tell what is a css.stylesheet.

    The style.css is the main file in all themes. Without the style.css file the theme will not run (there are exceptions but I won’t bother explaining).
