    Hello,

I made a woocommerce website 2 years ago. I set prices for b2c customers but I fear I made a mistake since the beginning, because I did not set tax calculations . I changed it some days ago adding to the system 22% taxes, but in new orders made after, the total still displays without tax amount values. Is there anything I need to reset?

It seems set up correctly. It seems like it does not apply the new setting.

I found a button in status > tools “Delete WooCommerce tax rates” but I’m a bit scared to use it.

    Thank you for your help!

I found a tutorial saying that changing tax settings, will not apply to existing products. Is it correct? Do I have to throw all my products in the bin and insert them again??

    Hi @marcie73

Changing your tax settings in WooCommerce won’t automatically apply to existing products. However, these changes will affect how taxes are calculated for all products, old and new, during future transactions at the time of checkout. You don’t need to delete or re-insert existing products; the tax adjustments apply to all future sales.

Hi Darla, ok. As I said a the beginning, although I set tax calculations for 22% vat, orders that I received AFTER my change, still don’t calculate 22% vat.

    Hi there @marcie73 ??

Thank you for reaching back, sharing further details on how your tax settings are set up currently.

I changed it some days ago adding to the system 22% taxes, but in new orders made after, the total still displays without tax amount values. Is there anything I need to reset?

Just to clarify, did you recently update only the tax settings at your store, or the product prices also (in order to include the tax in the regular price of each, set at the Product data section)? Below is a screenshot highlighting that section, for reference:

Based on your settings, showcased in the screenshots, this would be the way to have the taxes calculated as expected.

As an alternative, consider checking out WooCommerce Tax (linked here).

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

I updated only tax setting in the store. In single product the regular price I left it unchanged, and tax status it set on Taxable, the same that I see in your screenshot.

Suddenly, since the 12th of October the system started calculating taxes, after 10 days more or less that I made this change…So no idea what happened in between…

Anyway, now it is fixed, but in another website I’m doing is happening the same thing. In this case I’m using only composite product type for which the price regular is not applied.

    Hi @marcie73

It’s great to hear that the issue has been resolved on one of your websites. For the second website where you’re using only composite product type, please ensure that the tax settings are configured correctly.

The tax status should be set to “Taxable”, and the tax class should correspond to the standard rate. If the regular price is not applied for the composite product type, you may need to apply it individually for each component in the composite product.

If the issue persists, it might be due to a plugin conflict or a caching issue. Try deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce and switch to a default theme like Storefront to see if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t, reactivate your plugins one by one to identify the source of the conflict.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
