• Hi All. I have finally upgraded to 2.1 and really happy about the fact. My website is running smoothly except for a small worry. In the categories page, the sidebar is not showing up. I checked the code to see if the <?php get_sidebar(); ?> has been inserted correctly and it indeed has been there. Can anyone provide a solution to getting the sidebar back?

  • looking at your html, it doesn’t look like the sidebar is ever called up. I would check the code again, make sure you don’t have an open tag < > somewhere or that sidebar is being called correctly.
Did you create this page, I do notice even though it is the Category page, Archive is highlighted on the top menu.

thanks for replying Richard. No I did not create this page rather it represents the ‘General’ category. I hve not changed the code except for deleting some unwanted “code” relating to Adsense, which was a part of the original theme. However, I would recheck the code once again.

    No solution in sight still.

    Hi Bhooshan,

I have exactly the same issue after upgrading to 2.1. The sidebar.php file keeps on erasing “itself”, even if I ftp a backup copy to the site. It is very strange and annoying. No solution so far, you? the site is: https://www.orangepeel.co.nz

Hi Cornelis. I just gave up on this thread after seeing the number of responses, therefore the delay in replying. The sidebar issue still exists on my website but mostly limited to the category pages. Otherwise the entire site has been performing beautifully. Let me know if you find a solution to this problem so I can implement the same.
