Google Search Console has a new Merchant listing section for their shopping data, with this new update WooCommerce products are now coming up as invalid due to “Missing field “priceType” (in “offers.priceSpecification”)”

the priceType data seems to be something that was never once needed and why Woo never added it but now with Google Seach Console requiring it for products to pass the valid test, I think it would be good to start adding it to the core.

  • Hi @toolcurve

    Thanks for reaching out!

Google has recently updated its specification for a large amount of eCommerce schema, and this is now causing a few errors in Google Search Console that didn’t occur before, such as the ones reported here. With this new update, WooCommerce products are now coming up as invalid due to Missing field "priceType" (in "offers.priceSpecification")

Our team is already aware of this and is currently looking into how we need to adapt our plugins to meet the new eCommerce specification.

We do appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention, and we have confirmed the problem you reported and created a bug report for our development team.

As soon as our development team has a clear indication of which release this problem will be solved in, we’ll provide an update.
