Missing product images

I understand you’re facing an issue with your product images not displaying, which were correctly displaying before.

Just to have a better understanding, do you remember making any changes before the issue started, such as updating or installing plugin(s)?

The reason I’m asking this is to see if the new changes could be the possible reason for the behavior.

No we didn’t make changes, the images just went missing on some of the products. There are still about 20 products with no images, you need to scroll down the page to see them

Thank you for confirming this for us.

Since some of the images are still showing, I recommend flushing your permalinks to see if the images would show correctly on the product pages. This can be done by heading over to your WordPress dashboard > Permalinks, then click on save.

Should the issue persist, I would recommend running a conflict test as detailed here. Please be sure to have a backup in place before proceeding with this step.

Thank you again for sharing further details on this. I went ahead checking your SSR, but could not find any details that could lead to the issue you’refacing.

However, on further investigating this issue, it seems like the images were not correctly assigned to the product page. This is because I was able to note that the alt message stated ‘awaiting product image’ and the source image used is a placeholder image from WooCommerce. You can check out the screenshot below:

Please note that this is the same for more than 3 products that I was able to check from your store. I would recommend assigning the correct images from your backend.

Thank you for your reply. The images were showing fine before and then all of the sudden showed the woocommerce placeholder image, so I’m unsure how to keep this from happening again.

While this might be quite challenging to troubleshoot. It’s possible one of your admins managed to change the images from their end.

Could you please confirm with any of your store administrators if they were able to change any of the images recently?

Hi, the same thing happened again. The images were showing yesterday, today it’s showing the woocommerce placeholder image. This is not something that the store admins did.

To try another angle, could you go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools then click ‘Regenerate shop thumbnails’ This can fix issues with image display by ensuring that all product images match the sizes defined in your theme and WooCommerce settings.

Additionally, please also use the ‘Clear transients’ option within the System Tools. Transients are a way WordPress stores cached data temporarily. Clearing them can sometimes resolve issues where data isn’t being displayed properly, which might include your product images.

After reviewing your system status report, I noticed that your “Max Upload Size” is set to 700 KB. While this isn’t directly related to the currently missing images, it could be a problem for the next uploads if your product images are larger than this limit. You might want to reach out to your hosting provider to increase this limit, so all your images can upload correctly.
