• I just started designing my website with www.remarpro.com (I’ve used wordpress.com for 5 years or so), and I have run into a snag. I can create a new page just fine, but it doesn’t work when I check it. It gives me an error. I tried creating a new page 4 different times, and they have all given my an error message.

Also, while I have you, can I import my posts from my .com to my .org?

    Thanks!

    Anya

    “The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.”

I cleared the cookies several times and tried to use different browsers. It didn’t work.

    Please check

    1.addons on your browsers
    2.plugins in WP.
3.you can try changing the theme to the default.

I am teaching myself how to do all of this, so I’m not sure what I need to check with #1 and #2 in your list. I am installing a theme and following along with the creator’s step-by-step video instructions, so I don’t think I’ve missed a plugin–but maybe I have…

This looks like a problem with your browser not accepting cookies but you already told me that your tried with another browser…

    1. is extensions like ad block that you can install in your browser
    2. WordPress->plugins
    3. WordPress->appearance->themes . install another and check if this is theme related.

Well, I guess I should have been more clear. Yes. I know where to check the plugins and where to change the themes, but I’m not sure what to look for once I’m there. This is a theme I just purchased, so and don’t want to change it.

you must check if this related to the theme.

I just switched themes to check it, and the error was the same.

i am sorry but the only thing i can suggest is to destroy your computer
    ??

no either re install WP or re install browsers.

ps you can send me a username and password if you like to test myself.

    what’s your email?

just create a dummy account not an administrator. maybe an author and post it here.

eh… I guess I’m not comfy doing that. How do you reinstall WP? Back at my hosting site, or can I do it in the WP dashboard?

    you can

    1. post your email and i can contact you
    2. delete the dummy account as soon as you want.

WP is installed from your server, like cpanel, plesk.

So, I am basically in the process of transferring my .com blog to my new .org blog. I went to my .com blog to see if the pages worked for it, and they do. :/
