After connecting my Facebook Business account to my WooCommerce store, all the product details and images were copied across, but there’s an issue with some (though not all) of the product images. All of these images are 500×500 or 800×800 jpegs when uploaded to WordPress, but Facebook seems to have cropped them to 496×259 and then said they’re not the right size (ie. 500×500).

Does anyone know why this would happen? Facebook seems to suggest that if I fix the images on the Facebook end, WooCommerce might overwrite any changes in the future, so it needs to be fixed at the WooCommerce end. Whilst I don’t want to have to re-upload lots of images, I definitely don’t want to do that if Facebook is just going to resize them again.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @simonpk277,

Typically, the uploaded image dimension is sent to Facebook. I believe there’s something else at play.

Let’s limit the troubleshooting to 2 products to help us narrow things down. Here are the next steps:

    1. Edit 2 affected products, click on the product image and confirm the current size.
    2. Share a link to the 2 products on your size
    3. Go to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Images and share a screenshot of your settings.
    4. Lastly, send a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply.
