missing "older posts" button

I’m trying out spun and really like it, but I’m missing the “older posts” buttons on my blog page and individual blog posts. Am I missing some check box or something to activate this? I see the arrow button that scrolls to other posts, but the demo version of spun has the older posts button. The arrow doesn’t seem intuitive for many users.
