Missing MCE Editor after WooCommerce Upgrade (when upgrade times-out)
-
I just spent a full day tracking down a very difficult problem with the MCE editor simply not loading after I had upgraded WooCommerce (to 2.1.7 in my case), and during the upgrade, the upgrade timed-out. The upgrade was installed, but something went wrong elsewhere…
Uninstalling and reinstalling Woocommerce did not help. Using the WordPress database repair did not help. Re-running the latest WordPress install did not help…
What I found, was that the
can_compress_scripts', '0', 'yes'
line that had originally been in the_options
table was no longer there. Re-adding it solved the problem! (see more about this here)Since this was a ridiculously hard problem to solve (I had a huge e-commerce site with hundreds of products, and re-doing everything was out of the question), I hope my fix here will help someone else, as this seems to be a very likely problem to face.
