    Hi There:

My website was briefly disconnected from Jetpack Stats yesterday, and the stats aren’t showing up after reconnecting.

Can you reconnect the previous stats or let me know how to solve?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @dlongdon

I can see that you’ve lost the stats of your website as you’ve reconnected it; however, I can see that you still haven’t reconnected your WordPress.com account there (which is needed for the stats to work).

We’ll be able to get your stats back, but we’ll need you to reconnect your WordPress.com account first, as shown on our guide:

    https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/#reconnecting-jetpack

Do let us know after you’ve done that.

    Hi there:

    Reconnection done.

    Hello David,

Would you please disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack? You can follow these instructions to do that:

1 – Go to the **Jetpack** menu in your WP-Admin dashboard
2 – Scroll down to find the *Connections* area.
3 – Click *Manage site connection*.
4 – Click **Disconnect** and follow the prompts to complete the disconnection process.
    5. – Click the **Set Up Jetpack** button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

This handy guide explains the full process in more detail:

After reconnecting, please contact us back to confirm.

    Done.

    Thanks!

Thanks for reconnecting Jetpack. I’ve run the debugger and I see a working connection.

With Jetpack, your stats and other information are connected to a unique blog ID. Sometimes, if a site owner was using a development/staging site or a different address when they set up Jetpack, disconnecting or cloning may create a new blog ID. When this happens, it may appear that your stats were lost.

That’s what happened on your site; it previously used a different staging URL and at some point was involved in this kind of “identity crisis”. I have fixed the issue, and you should now be able to see your historical site stats again.

You can learn more about identity crises as well as proper actions to take when you come across our safe mode notice whenever you clone your site for development or testing purposes from our support page.
