We have missed the minification files on our last release and they are now included. We bumped the version to 3.0.4 to make it easier to update.

    – Unlog from the site.
    – In your browser, clear all caches etc… or even better, try another browser.
    – Relog.
    – Retry.

Worse to worse, uncheck “Enable Stripe Checkout”.

I preferred when the plugin was premium and actually reliable. What a loss of revenue.

    A genius solution.

    Still broken.

This is why I NEVER… repeat… NEVER use free plugins. I’ve had this since it was a paid plugin from Woo, and this never happened. Now that it’s a free plugin this starts to happen.

How many hundreds/thousands of websites have been affected by this, and we just don’t see them here because a lot of website owners would not know where to start looking.

Even for me, this forum was my 2nd place. I initially lodged a ticket with Woo, and then thought I’d check in here, and found all of this.

It’s actually extremely poor that any developer would push out an update without fully testing from every angle at their end.

V 3.05 is still broken and it’s been how many hours now since there has been a further response/update from the developer(s)??

Not happy at all. But what can you do when it’s free.

    @jrnetwork

    Q. “Not happy at all. But what can you do when it’s free.”

    A. Move to a paid solution like Shopify. It’s where we’re going. Can’t afford the loss of sales and also goodwill. Some of our customers affected by this are repeat customers. So I lose today’s sale but also next weeks and the week after and the week after that because they go elsewhere …

As it for it being free yes, it is on the face of it. But it’s a gateway plugin. So they give it for free so that you use WooCommerce and then hope that some time down the road you lump $100 for a premium plugin. They’re not giving it for free out the goodness of their heart, it does have a business strategy behind it.

No communication from them either. Shabby.

If you’re still seeing issues after updating to version 3.0.5, you may need refresh the page or clear the browser cache before it works.

So are you saying @fernashes that we need to tell every single client to refresh before it works?

If your client had version 3.0.3 or 3.0.4 and saw the issue, they’ll need to refresh their browsers to see that it’s fixed. The same would go for their customers: if the customer never saw the issue, they shouldn’t even notice that there was an issue.

So @fernashes you can confirm that 3.05 is fully tested and operational and safe to roll out?

@cubewebsolutions: multiple people including developers and support have tested version 3.0.5 and it works. That’s a pretty good indication.

However – it’s a still a gateway plugin and business critical for most sites that are using it. As we can’t test for every single platform out there, testing yourself (for example via a staging site) is always a good idea.

    Hi guys,

As a developer who maintains a website that used the premium, and now the free, version of this plugin, I always:

    1) Backup the old version of the website.
    2) Test the new plugin as much as I can after installing it.

This is especially true when using free plugins. If you’re losing sales because of this, you have yourselves to blame for. The error was not insidious, it was plainly obvious at the first test (if it was a strange race condition or something like that, then yes, we can be angry).

Now, with that said, it’s a good idea that the plugin authors have a fully functioning test site and automated tests to ensure this doesn’t happen frequently.
