Missing IMG ALT tags

after entering in text in the “Title” input field, and the “Alt text” input field, nothing displayed in the source (i.e so you get alt=””, instead of what was entered into the gallery item as “photo: food” or {alt=”photo: food”}
The url entered into the Gallery URL field does get input.
Is this broken?
