    Hi everyone,

I’ve searched everywhere but haven’t found a solution to my problem.

I’m maintaining https://www.ceibaeditions.com and have been trying to activate the search area in the header. As per instructions here I try to customize my header from the live Customizer > Header panel. Unfortunately I only have “Site Identity”, “General Design Settings” and “Navigation Menus” present and nowhere in there there is an option to set the search area.

I have the latest version of Customizr theme.

    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Hi emranemranx,

    Thanks for your reply.

I just updated to 4.1.2 now and the problem persists. In fact, I noticed that while selecting Header in the Customiser there’s a very brief blink and then it takes me to the same basic option listed above. It might be my idea but in any case, I do not have access to Desktop & Mobile Layouts, Search etc.

I forgot to mention that I use a child theme but I do not see how that would be a problem. In fact, I changed to the parent Customizr theme and the same limited options are given.

Any help will be a ppreciated,
    John

    Hi everyone,

Any fresh ideas on the missing Header Customising options? I really need to activate the Search section in the header.

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,

You might try temporarily switch to parent theme and retest the issue, let us know if it works fine with parent theme.

It’s also recommended testing for a plugin conflict by deactivating all the third party plugins on your site, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can specify which one by reactivating them one at a time.?

    Thanks!

    Hi emranemranx,

    Thanks for your reply.

I had already tried the parent theme and disabling all plugins. I tried it again but it didn’t help.

I ended up using an external plugin and now this thread can be closed.

    Thanks for your help.
    John
