missing first letter throughout Garfunkel

Trying to figure out why there are numerous first letter characters missing in the Garfunkel theme. Example: ome (Home) and log (Blog) in the menu. The same thing is going on with titles to posts. The behavior is sporadic throughout the site but generally first letters missing.

Searching has not turned up much help. I have deactivated all plugins and still the same result. I have noticed the same behavior on the Garfunkel theme site as well, https://andersnoren.se/themes/garfunkel/.

Any help to why the first letter is missing in many titles and posts?
