I am working on a client intranet site and they are using Memphis documents to contain all of their files (a large number in the hundreds). My client has uploaded all their files and they are displaying in the plugin folders on the backend of the site. However, when they click to view the files it results in a broken link.

When I look at the site via FTP, most of the files they uploaded are not appearing in the mDocs folder, which explains the broken links. I am wondering why the files went missing. Is there an upload limit in mDocs that I am not seeing in the settings? Or how can I make sure that files do not keep getting lost after upload?

there is no file limit for mDocs.

There might be a problem on upload where the files are not uploading due to server configuration.

You will need to test uploading files to see if this issue is happening try different file types to see if you can recreate the issue.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have tested multiple different file uploads and cannot replicate what happened.

I asked my client and they said, on the day the file were deleted, they had three different people uploading files around the same time. Two were working together to use the bulk upload and the other was uploading their files individually. Could this have been a contributing factor?

It could be a bug with the batch uploader. Can you test batcher uploader as well to see if you can recreate this issue.

I tested the batch uploader and am unable to recreate the issue. Not sure what else might have caused the deletion.

have any other files gone missing recently?

Have you run the “File Lost Files” link?

No other files have gone missing recently. I just ran the lost files link and it says I have no lost files. I was able to restore everything that went missing, so that is likely why.

I suggested keeping backups up to date and monitor the files closely for a while.

I think there may have been some user error that caused the issue, no way to tell.

Keep me posted if this issue arises again.

I will continue to monitor the files and let you know if it occurs again.
