Missing file warning

    Hi,

    We received an error message on our website the other day about a missing file and now we think it has caused an issue on our website.

    Is it possible to use WordFence to find which file is missing so we can resolve the issue?

    Hi @99uavvw,

    A full Wordfence scan can pick up discrepancies between the repository versions of WordPress core, the installed plugins you have and the files that are running on your site. This includes a file comparison check to see whether any files have been altered from the approved versions released by the developers.

    If Wordfence isn’t reporting any file differences then this should be a good indicator that you’re not missing critical files. However, if you see the missing file message again by all means paste the full message here so that we can take a look at it.
