    I inadvertently deleted some file while in Filezilla and now get the message below instead of my blog. please help!

    Warning: require([path]/[domain]/wp-includes/compat.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /[path]/[domain]/wp-settings.php on line 265

  • Visit the Download tab at the top of this page and download and extract the WordPress zip then reupload the WordPress files to your host.

    Thanks for your prompt reply. Please excuse my ignorance but I have another question. I’ve downloaded the zip file and extracted the files in it. Can I simply upload these files to my blog subdomain without losing any plugins, etc that I have there already?

    That’s correct. The plugins should be in wp-content/plugins and the zip only has two plugins and two themes, so you really don’t have to upload the wp-contents folder at all.

    Thank you so much. No matter how long I work with blogs there seems to be something “new” to me (but not really new). This worked just as you said and my blog is back. Thanks again.
