    hey guys,

    I wanted to check out the position of search terms leading to my website using the Google Search Console. I then noticed that “position” does not show up in my list and it only shows me clicks and impressions under “queries” – this led me to the following error regarding the breadcrumbs on my site, hopefully you guys can help?

    @type BreadcrumbList
    itemListElement
    A value for the itemListElement field is required.

    Hopefully fixing this will allow me to see the “position” of my keywords! Or did google remove it? In any case, its prolly good to fix the error haha.

    Thanks so much!

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hello,

    Fixing the breadcrumb issue won’t show any ‘position’ of your keywords. However, this is an entirely separate topic on how to use Google Search Console. We do have a guide so you can learn more about GSC’s features here — https://yoast.com/beginners-guide-to-google-search-console/

    With regards to the error you are getting for the breadcrumbs, are you using the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs? Are you getting this error only on your homepage? You can review the documentation on how to apply the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs here — https://yoast.com/help/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs/

    Please let us know if you continue to encounter any errors with the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs.

    Thanks Michael!

    I will check out the Google Search Console link out for sure.

    Regarding the breadcrumbs, yes I have activated it via the Yoast feature, do you have a quick way to double check that the code is implemented correctly? I am so rusty and have done this many years ago ??

    Thanks,
    Chris

    So ive checked a bit further and it could come from my ZOOM social icon widget.

    Looking at the line shown for the error “A value for the itemListElement field is required.” in line 43 shows this, followed by more code:

    href="https://www.twitch.tv/towertak3r" target="_blank" > <span class="screen-reader-text">twitch</span> <span class="zoom-social_icons-list-span genericon genericon-twitch" data-hover-rule="background-color" data-hover-color="#9e5ae2" style="background-color : #8224e3; font-size: 16px; padding:5px" ></span>

    Could it somehow be due to the Zoom Social Icon widget or is it just a coincidence?
    Thanks!

    We have tested the “Travel After Corona” from your site using the Google structured data testing tool and can confirm the issue you’re experiencing isn’t specific to Yoast SEO. Yoast SEO isn’t generating the relevant breadcrumb schema markup that causes the error. It’s most likely generated by your currently active theme. Therefore, the relevant theme support would be the best place to assist you with this.
