    Hi!

There are thousands of languages. Only a few are in the Polylang list. You can enter your own languages by filling the input fields yourself instead of using the languages list to prefill them.

NB: I am not aware that EN_en (nor en_EN for instance) is a valid code for WordPress locale.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply!

    en_EN isn’t a valid WordPress locale because define(‘WPLANG’, ”); is en_EN, so it’s the default value.

But if Polylang users use a customized WPLANG, then en_EN should exist.

    Don’t you think?

Polylang supports en_US and en_CA, we know that en_CA is different from en_CA, but also en_US is different from en_EN. Consider that there are a lot of different words between British English and american one.

By default, the WordPress language is ‘en_US’, not ‘en_EN’. If you are looking for the locale for British English, the valid WordPress code is ‘en_GB’. I wrote the languages list a long time ago. And at that time there was no British English translation available for WordPress. An existing and maintained translation was my criterion to enter a language in the Polylang languages list (because Polylang downloads the WordPress translation when it is available).
