    Hello Support,

Today I went to try and edit the scrolling ticker we have on our homepage. When I went to Ditty to edit it I show no items listed? I also looked under the legacy settings and nothing there.

HELP!!! How can I edit this or recover the ditty? The old short code was:
    [ditty_news_ticker id=”5106″]

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Can you still see the post listed at Ditty > News Tickers (legacy)?

Please upload and link to a few screenshots of the issues you are seeing in your dashboard: https://imgur.com/upload

Your ticker is still scrolling on the front end, so that’s a good sign that the data still exists. We just need to figure out why it’s not showing. If you still have the post but no items, it could be a javascript issue causing the items to not load. You can try going through the following article to see if another plugin or theme could be causing this: https://www.metaphorcreations.com/article/general/plugins/test-plugin-conflicts/

Thanks for the quick reply!!! That article was super helpful for sure! After disabling all my plugins i was able to see the new ticker / scroll item we had. I then re-enabled all of the plugins and now it still shows there.

However, I noticed that there is a problem with the Yoast SEO plugin. When the plugin is enabled it changes the formatting of your plugin page. I’ve posted a couple of screenshots to Imgur. I’m thinking likely this plugin had something to do with the original problem but deactivating / re-activating it at least now it shows up.

If we can get the formatting fixed that would be great. It looks like it just changes the column size of your plugin for some reason?

Good to hear! Sometimes a plug will have a menu item set at a specific order. If that plugin loads after others it’s possible it’ll overwrite the menu position of something else. Ditty’s menu does not set a specific order so it should never overwrite other menus, but it doesn’t stop others from doing the same. This may or may not have been your issue… I’m not positive.

As for Yoast, there’s a couple things you can do.

    1. At the top of your screen click the Screen Options tab. You’ll see a list of checkboxes and you can disable the additional columns added by Yoast.
    2. Go into Ditty > Settings (legacy) and enable Private ticker posts. Save your settings. This will set the ditty-news-ticker post type to private and Yoast won’t add anything extra to the columns or edit screens. After doing this go to Settings > Permalinks and hit Save Changes. You don’t need to adjust anything, just save. This will ensure your .htaccess file is correct for the new hidden DNT posts.

If you are only showing news tickers through shortcodes I would suggest #2.

Let me know if you have any questions.
